Due to Mae Fah Luang University’s policy, all 1st year students have to stay in university dormitory; in order to support student to learn and live together generously.

In order to make preparedness for all new students before living the dormitory, student should inform the information below;

  • Information of 1st year student’s dormitories

    The university provides student on-campus dormitory buildings for convenience and security, learning opportunities and socialization. The university has various dormitory building with the following features

    Remark    If students take electric appliances which are not allowed in the dormitory, the appliances will be confiscated immediately. However, the appliances will return to students when they go back home or move out of the dormitory.

  • Service and Welfare of the Dormitory

    1. Dormitory officer 24 hours taking care and advising.
    2. 24 hours security guards
    3. Housekeepers work on 7 am to 4 pm.
    4. The dormitory in open on 6 am and close on 10.30 pm.  
    5. Medicine service in the dormitory
    6. Students can borrow bicycles for going to class or exercising.

    1. Food and Beverage
      1. Student activities building and Food center D1 included 10 restaurants and 9 snack and Drink shops. The shops open every day from 7 am to 9 pm.  There are 800 seats to serve more than 3,000 people per day.
      2. E1 Food Center included 8 restaurants and 3 snack and drink shops on the downstairs of E1 building. The food center opens every day from 7 am to 6 pm. There are 600 seats to serve more than 2,000 people per day.
      3. E2 Food Center included 8 restaurants and 3 snack and drink shops on the downstairs of E1 building. The food center opens every day from 7 am to 6 pm. there are 200 seats to serve more than 1,000 people per day.
      4. C5 Food Center Pol.Gen.Pow Sarasin building included 5 restaurants and 3 snack and drink shops. The food center opens every day from 7 am to 6 pm. There are 300 seats to serve more than 1,000 people per day.
      5. KIOSK Science building (S2) included 3 snack and drink shops and also 1 coffee shop in the front of the library. The shops open every day from 7 am to 6 pm. There are 300 seats to serve more than 1,000 people per day.
      6. Restaurants near dormitory zones included Krua Lamduan restaurant that located in Lamduan dormitory zone, and My Mum restaurant that located in F Dormitory zone. The restaurants open every day from 7 am to 8 pm and can serve more than 2,000 people per day. 
      7. Swimming pool’s restaurant opens every day from 7 am to 9 pm and can serve more than 300 people per day.
    2. Transportation
      1. There are 14 shuttle buses to serve students inside the university without any cost. The buses service from 7 am to 9 pm for the convenience, safety, and reduce on road accidents.  
      2. mall car’s service (Green cars) runs from the front of university (Phaholyothin Road) to Lamduan dormitory. The service charge is 5 bath along the way or depends on personal’s route.
    3. Other facilities
      1. 2 banks in the university. First, the government saving bank located in the forepart. Second, Bangkok bank located in the student activities and food center D1. The banks open on 8.30 am. Moreover, there are more than 14 ATMs and cash depositing machines inside the university. 
      2. Post office located on the first floor of student activities and food center D1.
      3. Students can buy dried foods and any things inside the university as follow: 
        1. Minimart on the first floor of student activities and food center D1  
        2. Convenience store (Seven-Eleven) is beside Lamduan dormitory car park.
      4. 7 Laundry services which 2 shops located in Lamduan dormitory zone and 5 shops located in F1-F5 dormitory. 

     

  • Mae Fah Luang University Dormitory’s Regulations

    1. Exit and entry
      1. Dormitory is opened at 6 am and closed at 10.30 pm.
      2. The student returning to the dormitory after 10 pm will be booked. If booked 3 times in one semester, the Dormitory Affair Section will notify the student’s parents. In case of student is engaged in an activity or has a legitimate reason for returning late, the student has to complete a Late Entry Request form and submit it to the dormitory ruler beforehand. In case the student does not know in advance, the student must complete and submit the form as soon as possible.
      3. Upon entering the dormitory, the student must hand in his/her dormitory resident card to the building’s security officer. The student shall have his/her dormitory resident card with him/her at all time.  
    2. Visit to a resident
      1. Visitors can meet a resident only in the area designate by the university.
      2. Non-residents are prohibited from entering the residence area; permission can be obtained on a case-by-case basis.
    3. A resident shall refrain from causing any disturbance; the following is strictly prohibited.
      1. Gambling is not allowed
      2. Alcoholic drinks, intoxicants and addictive substances
      3. Weapons, explosives, combustibles, detonators, firecrackers and any other like object which may cause a fire or danger, or scare other people
      4. Animals
      5. Making loud noises or doing anything that disturbs other people.
    4. Electrical appliance other than those allowed by the dormitory are strictly prohibited, for example, a TV set, electric pan, refrigerator, microwave oven or toaster.
    5. Electrical appliances permitted in a dormitory room include a fan, iron, hair-roller, hair dryer, PC, radio and electric rice cooker. For items other than these, the student must consult the dormitory ruler. If a prohibited item is found.
    6. The student is strictly forbidden to take any centrally provide facilities for personal use
    7. The student is strictly forbidden to cook in the dormitory room
    8. The student is strictly forbidden to remove, modify, extend or move any items in the dormitory room or building
    9. The student is strictly forbidden to wear shoes in the resident area
    10. If the student needs to stay overnight elsewhere, such as for a home visit or a university’s activity, the student must complete and submit a request form to the Dormitory Office and must return to the dormitory no later than the date or time indicate
    11. The student is strictly forbidden to have a party or entertainment activity without permission from the university or dormitory ruler
    12. If student violates the dormitory regulations, he/she is subject to a penalty as stipulated in Mae Fah Luang University Regulations on Student Discipline, BE 2542 AD 1998

  • Mae Fah Luang University Dormitory’s Consequential Facts

    1. Consultant and coordinate with dormitory officer
      1. In workdays, student can contact the dormitory ruler for 24 hours at the dormitory of the student. For more choice student can call to the staff by the attached phone number on board in front of the dormitory.
      2. In holidays, student can contact for information at         
        F2 building, call number 0-5391-7106 
        F6 building, call number 0-5391-7106       
        LUMDUAN building, call number 0-5391-7106       
    2. Ill student
      1. Student can take the medicine from the dormitory ruler at the student’s dormitory.
      2. For emergency case, student can make a request to go to hospital by contacting dormitory ruler or shift officer at 3 offices abovementioned or by cell phone.
    3. Electricity charge calculation
      1. The officer of building division would note electricity unit in the end of every month
      2. The officer of asset and properties division would calculated electricity charge by divide from amount of the occupants per one room; 5 baht per one unit ( In case of the electric bill would more than 100 baths / room / month.)
        Example of Electricity charge calculation
        The 3 students taken the electric 65 unit in one month (65 unit x 5 baths)  – discount 100 baths = 325 ÷ 4 = 81.25 baths / person
      3. The expense would show on student registration page.
      4. Student shall pay the electricity charge at the division of finance and accounting AD2 building by the 7th of every month.
    4. Room/Dormitory transferring
      1. Complete room/dormitory transferring form
      2. Submit to dormitory ruler for consideration
      3. Only the Student who has the permission from dormitory ruler can move a room.
    5. Dormitory’s equipment repairing   
      1. Room’s equipment is ruined by deterioration; university would fix the equipment without charge
      2. If room’s equipment is ruined by action of student. Student will be charge the damage of material
      3. Student shall take care of room/ dormitory property; if the damage is found, notify dormitory ruler to carry out repairing.
    6. Resigning
      1. Complete dormitory resigning form.
      2. Submit to dormitory ruler.
      3. Student shall return dormitory ID card and key to dormitory ruler; if student lost a key, it will be 30 baht charge
    7. Apply For Dormitor
      By the time that academic year ends; students shall check out no later than the date or time indicate . For the student who would like to apply for  the dormitory in the next semester, the dormitory application will be announced before final examination in every year.       The students who has right to book the University’s dormitory must have a good score in the activities participation and the discipline score and the rang of score will be consider from the highest.
